Who is Biomechanics for?
Biomechanics is such an interesting subject because it relates to EVERYONE. Whether you are:
- Someone who wants a low impact or rehabilitation programme
- Sports enthusiast who wants to push boundaries in their chosen sport
- Sports professional with a re-occurring injury
Clients are given simple daily exercises (anti-spasm exercises) based on a tailored programme of screenings to help overcome aches and pains, injury and the risk of injury.
Biomechanics empowers the individual to move more freely and feel younger and healthier
Why consult a Biomechanics coach?
As Biomechanics Coach will give a client a full- body biomechanical screen, establishing any areas of mechanical weakness. Whether you have a reoccurring injury which prevents you from exercising or you want to improve your consistency and deliver more power in a particular sport then Biomechanical screening can help.
Avid players of golf, tennis and horse riding, to name but a few, can improve their overall technique by ensuring that core muscles are correctly activated. This can help improve performance through better balance and consistency and help deliver more power and accuracy to their chosen sport.
Equally people who want to enjoy a low impact but effective exercise programme can use biomechanics training to improve fluidity of movement and greatly improve injury management in their everyday life.
What does a screening involve?
A fully trained coach would screen the shoulders, spine, pelvis, knees, ankles (nerves and muscles) to see if they are functioning correctly. If these are not working well individually and unison, then this can help determine whether this weakness is developing due to poor technique, posture problems, inadequate rehabilitation or ergonomic set-up in a particular sport or at work.
A programme of Pilates based exercises complimented with regular evaluation of your progress (biomechanical screenings) will be used to correct muscular and neural weaknesses to achieve the symmetry required to reach your desired level of fitness safely and very effectively.
